THUNE BLOCKS CBDC BAN
A fresh warning from Washington: Senate Majority Leader John Thune is reportedly poised to block a permanent ban on Central Bank Digital Currencies in any House legislation that comes over, and to oppose “No SAVE America,” igniting alarm among conservative lawmakers. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna blasted the move on X, declaring, “Attention America: John Thune has said he will not support a CBDC ban in any of the legislation we send over. He also has said No Save America.” Rep. Tim Burchett then backed it up, posting: “I was there I heard it.” For critics, the message is stark: the fight over digital money — and what powers Washington keeps for itself — is not over.
