In a disturbing display of leadership failure and disregard for public safety, two outdoor high school graduation ceremonies in Paterson, New Jersey, descended into chaos as a dangerous heat wave overwhelmed attendees—despite glaring warnings from meteorologists. With temperatures soaring into the upper 90s and a scorching heat index of 107 degrees, more than 150 people required medical attention, including 16 who were rushed to the hospital. While Paterson Public Schools attempted to downplay the crisis, claiming cooling stations and water were available, the staggering number of individuals needing treatment tells a different story. This preventable debacle raises serious questions about decision-makers who put politics, virtue signaling, or optics above the well-being of students and families. Where was real leadership when it was needed most?
