The White House fraud task force says the numbers are staggering: $230 billion in total fraud, with $56 billion in bogus payments already stopped since it launched earlier this year. JD Vance, Andrew Ferguson and Stephen Miller are now pushing for tougher laws, tighter federal data access and stiffer penalties, warning that opaque state programs are letting taxpayer money vanish into a “black box” — including, they say, SNAP and other benefits where abuse is booming. Ferguson put it bluntly: fraud isn’t just a balance-sheet problem, it’s money ripped from working Americans and handed to some of the worst actors in the country.
