UNDOCUGRADS… PRIVATE DIPLOMAS, ICE FEARS
This spring, universities are hosting “UndocuGraduation” ceremonies for illegal alien students that are closed to the public and separate from traditional commencement ceremonies.
Schools describe the ceremonies as “private” or “intimate,” likely out of deportation fears, requiring advance registration and only revealing the location to confirmed attendees.
Many of these events are hosted by university resource centers for illegal alien students, which provide instructional guidance on how to handle interactions with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers to best avoid arrest and deportation. These centers also often provide taxpayer-funded legal services for illegal alien students.
Universities are quietly carving out separate graduation ceremonies for illegal alien students — “private,” “intimate” UndocuGrad events with hidden locations, restricted access, and advance registration, all amid deportation fears. From UC San Diego to Sacramento State, Cal Poly Pomona, UC Irvine and USC, the celebrations are being kept off the public stage while campus immigrant-resource groups also provide guidance on how to deal with ICE and, in some cases, taxpayer-funded legal help.

West Virginia Day is a state holiday in West Virginia to celebrate its joining the Union in 1863 as the 35th state. The creation of the state was a result of the Civil War.
