Trump is ready to yank Todd Blanche’s attorney general nomination — but only as a pressure play. With Republican Sens. John Cornyn and Thom Tillis withholding support over the Justice Department’s deal with Trump to end his IRS lawsuit, Trump said Thursday he’d pull Blanche now and reinstall him later, blasting both lawmakers as finished politically and vowing, “I have no objection to temporarily withdrawing Todd’s name, if they do not do the right thing.” Blanche, Trump’s former personal lawyer, is already a lightning rod over the Epstein files, the targeting of Trump foes and fears of a politicized Justice Department.
