A federal judge in Arizona has slammed the door on the Trump administration’s bid to get its hands on the state’s voter rolls, tossing a Justice Department lawsuit with prejudice and declaring the records are not subject to the attorney general’s request. The ruling, by Trump appointee Susan Brnovich, delivers a sharp setback to the DOJ as it pushes voting-related probes in the states, while Arizona AG Adrian Fontes hails the decision as a win for voter privacy and vows he will not comply with what he calls illegal demands.
