TRANSGENDER SPORTS ROW ENDS IN LEGAL VICTORY
A Vermont Christian school punished for refusing to face a transathlete has won a settlement from the state after a brutal legal fight over faith, fairness and girls’ sports. Mid Vermont Christian School was booted from all Vermont Principals’ Association-sanctioned activities — athletics, drama, debate, even science fairs — after forfeiting a 2023 basketball tournament game, with the school saying it was unsafe and unfair for girls to play a biological male. Now, after Alliance Defending Freedom pressed the case to the 2nd Circuit, the court said the VPA likely violated the school’s First Amendment free exercise rights because its handling of the matter was not neutral.
