FCC Chairman Brendan Carr is putting ABC’s The View under the microscope, asking the public whether the show is really a bona fide news program or just a partisan talker dodging broadcast equal-opportunity rules. Disney says The View belongs in the same bucket as Meet the Press and Face the Nation; Carr says the FCC will now take comments on whether that claim holds up — a fight with real consequences over who gets airtime, and who gets shut out.
