A self-published book is suddenly driving a full-throttle revolt against screens in American classrooms. Jared Cooney Horvath’s “The Digital Delusion” — boosted by parents, school-board fights, lawmakers and even a Hugh Grant blurb — has vaulted him from obscure consultant to go-to authority as districts and states wrestle with limits on laptops and tablets. The book blames the nation’s slide in test scores on digital learning and is now fueling a widening push to bring back paper, textbooks and old-school instruction.
