Teen rider accused in horse stabbings
A national barrel racing showdown in Las Vegas turned into a nightmare over the weekend after three horses were found stabbed in their stalls — and police say a teenage competitor is behind the attack. Metro officers rushed to the South Point Hotel and casino complex around 2 a.m. Saturday, where the National Barrel Horse Association’s Professional Choice Las Vegas Super Show was underway. Authorities say the teen, who had access to the barns, allegedly used a knife to repeatedly stab the horses, identified as Saaul Good, Detail and Rocket. All three needed treatment and are expected to recover, but were pulled from the rest of the competition. The accused was arrested at a nearby hotel and booked into Clark County Juvenile Hall, facing 12 animal-torture counts and three felony property-damage charges.
