A Green Party Senate candidate from North Carolina, Marine veteran Brian McGinnis, was forcibly removed from a Senate armed services subcommittee hearing after disrupting testimony by U.S. generals with anti-war protests, shouting “No one wants to fight for Israel” while dressed in uniform. Republican Sen. Tim Sheehy intervened to assist Capitol Police in ejecting McGinnis, during which the candidate’s arm appeared to snap as he clung to a door, sparking accusations from McGinnis and Green Party officials that Sheehy caused the injury, though video suggests the arm broke before Sheehy made contact. Sheehy defended his actions as an attempt to deescalate the situation while officers struggled to remove McGinnis, who was described as resisting arrest.
