SENATE CLEARS PATH TO DEFUND PLANNED PARENTHOOD
In a decisive victory for the pro-life movement and fiscal responsibility, the Senate Parliamentarian has ruled that a Republican-backed provision to block Medicaid funding to abortion providers — namely Planned Parenthood — for one year can remain in the GOP’s sweeping "One Big Beautiful Bill Act.” This ruling clears the path for Republicans to include the measure in a budget reconciliation package that only requires a simple majority to pass, thwarting Democrat efforts to shield abortion providers from financial accountability. Despite furious opposition from Senate Democrats, including a failed amendment by Sen. Patty Murray to preserve taxpayer funding for abortion-linked clinics, conservative lawmakers stood firm. Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith rightly reminded the chamber that once upon a time, shielding taxpayer dollars from the abortion industry was a bipartisan principle. This revised measure represents a small but critical step toward restoring a culture of life and ensuring that American families aren’t forced to fund an organization responsible for ending millions of unborn lives under the guise of “health care.” With this ruling, Republicans have once again proven to the American people that they are willing to take bold, meaningful action in defense of the unborn.

What did "Mr. Guitar," as he came to be known, trade to get that first guitar?
