Colorado is poised to haul in at least $32 million as grocery giant Albertsons gets hit with a massive nearly $774 million national opioid settlement, a deal announced Tuesday that could soon send tens of millions into the state after years of litigation tied to the deadly crisis. Attorney General Phil Weiser blasted the company’s “wrongful conduct,” saying they helped fuel addiction while “just cashing checks,” and vowed the money will help fund treatment and recovery, while Albertsons fired back that the agreement is merely a step toward resolving the claims and is not an admission of wrongdoing.
