Chad Wolf, former acting DHS Secretary, commented on President Donald Trump's nomination of Sen. Markwayne Mullin, R-Okla., to lead the Department of Homeland Security, as Mullin faces a Senate confirmation process complicated by intraparty tensions. Mullin, chosen to replace embattled DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, is set to appear before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, chaired by Sen. Rand Paul, who aims to hold the hearing next week before the nomination moves to a full Senate vote. The White House officially submitted Mullin’s nomination on Monday amid a politically charged atmosphere.
