Pride Fest hit by mpox
Boston’s Pride buildup has been hit with a grim interruption: an mpox outbreak is now in the picture just three days before festivities begin. The virus can cause weeks-long rash, fever, pain and fatigue, and spreads through close contact — including sex, kissing and other skin-to-skin exposure — with people who have mpox. Health officials say those with multiple sexual partners face higher risk, and the outbreak is already casting a shadow over what was supposed to be a celebratory weekend.
