NJ VOTER SYSTEM SHUTDOWN… COUNTY BLINDSIDED
New Jersey has abruptly taken its state voter system offline, notifying county election offices the NJ SVRS production environment would be inaccessible through Tuesday — just weeks after the governor admitted 6,600 non-citizens were registered to vote in a single year. The shutdown comes amid rising alarm over state databases and eligibility, with reports also saying about 75,000 noncitizens are summoned for jury duty each year. Officials have not said why the system was taken down, but in a state with 6.6 million registered voters, the stakes are obvious.
