NATIONWIDE ZYRTEC RECALL SHOCK
Unique Pharmaceutical Laboratories is pulling four nationwide lots of its cetirizine hydrochloride tablets USP 5 mg — the generic version of Zyrtec — in a voluntary recall over possible contamination with ranitidine, the heartburn drug. Announced July 18, the action raises fresh concern over drug safety and manufacturing controls as consumers are told to watch for affected lots.
