A Texas court has knocked down a mosque’s bid to shut down Christian evangelists preaching just outside the East Plano Islamic Center, clearing the way for Testimonies of God to keep handing out gospel literature near Friday prayers. EPIC wanted a sweeping injunction to stop the group from distributing “offensive” pamphlets and signs, calling the outreach a disruption; the Christians blasted the case as an attack on free speech and religious liberty. The ruling is a sharp win for street preachers — and a reminder that the fight over who gets to speak in public is far from over.
