Deb Gesualdo’s election by the Massachusetts Teachers Association, an NEA affiliate, puts a hard-left voice in the leadership of a union that shapes schools, politics and public debate, with her and incoming president Matt Bach tied to the progressive caucus Educators for a Democratic Union.
