LEE AIDE IN ETHICS FIRESTORM
A House ethics complaint is putting Rep. Summer Lee’s office under the microscope, accusing staff of using congressional resources and the “Dear White Staffers” Instagram account for campaign and political activity — including boosting preferred progressive candidates and amplifying incendiary rhetoric. The filing does not accuse Lee herself of a specific improper act, but it says her office is responsible for policing staff conduct, and it zeroes in on her operations director, Philip Bennett, who now controls the account and has used it to blast anti-Israel messages to nearly half a million followers. The complaint argues the conduct crosses a line, especially after a post that called on ICE agents to kill people in the Epstein files, and says it reflects badly on the House.
