JOKER MONEY MAN INDICTED IN $100M SCAM
Hollywood financier Jason Cloth — the money man behind Joker and Ghostbusters: Afterlife — has been hit with a federal indictment accusing him of running a $100 million Ponzi scheme that prosecutors say diverted investor cash from film and game projects into other uses, including a Canadian real estate deal and payments to earlier backers. The 60-year-old was arrested in Los Angeles after the charges were unsealed in Chicago, where he faces seven counts of wire fraud and a possible 20 years on each count, with prosecutors also seeking to claw back more than $12 million.
