A federal judge blasted the Justice Department for trying to “rewrite” Jan. 6 history as he was forced to dismiss the final seditious conspiracy case against Oath Keepers members at the Trump administration’s request, slamming the move as an effort to absolve crimes “against the United States itself.” The ruling closes the book on the Jan. 6 prosecutions wiped out by Trump’s sweeping pardons and commutations, erasing one of the most serious cases from the Capitol attack and underscoring how the new administration is now undoing Biden-era convictions for violent assaults on police and other crimes.
