Speculation about the fate of IRGC commander Esmail Qaani has surged amid unconfirmed reports claiming he was executed by Iran for spying for Israel, though Tehran has not verified these allegations. These rumors, widely circulated in Arab media and online, feed off Qaani's notorious reputation as "the man with nine lives," known for surviving multiple deadly attacks that claimed those around him. Appointed in January 2020 after the U.S. assassination of his predecessor Qassem Suleimani, Qaani leads the Quds Force, Iran's foreign operations branch responsible for orchestrating the "Axis of Resistance" across the Middle East.
