Iran is threatening to slam the door on backchannel talks with the U.S. and choke off the Strait of Hormuz, as state-linked outlet Tasnim warned there will be “no dialogue” until Israel pulls out of occupied areas in Lebanon and stops strikes in Lebanon and Gaza. The fiery report, aimed squarely at Israel’s operations against Hezbollah, said Tehran and the “resistance front” have resolved to block the vital shipping artery and even activate other fronts, including the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, in a move that sent oil prices surging more than 7% and sent shockwaves through already brittle ceasefire efforts.
