Rep. Al Green, D-Texas, said shortly after being removed from President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address that he would “do it again,” and that at some point, “You have to confront him face-to-face.”

Eleven-term Veteran Rep. Al Green, D-Texas, and newly minted Rep. Christian Menefee, D-Texas, will face off again after neither Democrat captured over 50% of the vote on Tuesday evening in their bids to represent Texas’ 18th Congressional District.

Rep. Al Green, a long-serving Texas Democrat known for his repeated impeachment efforts against President Trump, faced removal during Trump's State of the Union but vowed to confront him again; this political intensity coincides with a fierce primary battle as Green, displaced by redistricting from his 9th district, competes against newcomer Christian Menefee in the 18th Congressional District runoff after neither secured a majority, setting the stage for a high-stakes face-off between two Texas Democrats.
