This Iranian is lucky — not because we caught him, but because the loaded 9mm pistol he had hidden in his pants when we cuffed him didn’t go off.
We arrested Iranian national Behzad Sepehrian Bahary Nejad June 22 because:
📌He came to the United States on an F-1 student visa Dec. 9, 2016, and was arrested the next year for trying to suffocate a family member.
📌His wife claimed he threatened her and her family in Iran. She was so terrified of him that she got a restraining order against him.
📌The University of Texas terminated his student status in 2018, and the following year, he was ordered removed.
📌He attempted to reopen his case, but the immigration judge denied his motion.
He’ll be staying with us pending his final removal proceedings.

Atkins got his first guitar by making a trade with his brother, and it was arguably the best deal he ever made. Although he struggled with shyness and suffered from severe asthma—he had to sleep sitting up and often fell asleep still holding his guitar—he became an accomplished guitarist and went on to release several hit records, develop a signature line of guitars, and help create country music's "Nashville sound." What did "Mr. Guitar," as he came to be known, trade to get that first guitar?

The vast majority of tea sold in the West is black tea, made from fermented leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. Generally stronger in flavor and more caffeinated than the green and oolong varieties, black tea retains its flavor for several years and has long been an article of trade, serving as a form of currency into the 19th century in what countries?
