U.S. forces are moving to blast open the Strait of Hormuz after weeks of war tension, with CENTCOM saying underwater drones will join mine-clearing operations in the coming days as two Navy guided-missile destroyers, USS Frank E. Peterson and USS Michael Murphy, became the first to transit the chokepoint since fighting erupted on Feb. 28. The message is blunt: clear the mines, secure the lane, and keep global commerce moving — or risk letting Iran choke off one of the world’s most critical oil routes.
