The numbers underscore Florida’s aggressive alliance with ICE: the most 287(g) agreements in the nation, every sheriff on board, and nearly 200 police departments and dozens of agencies plugged into the effort. The first week alone brought more than 1,100 arrests, a Florida record — a blunt signal that the state is trying to lead the country’s fight over illegal immigration, and refusing to let up.
