ICE is going after a New York immigration attorney with a staggering $470,584 in civil fines, accusing him of filing 118 fraudulent asylum documents in 54 cases — all with “identical or nearly identical” persecution claims. Homeland Security Investigations says Suraj Raj Singh, whose practice represents mostly Indian nationals, submitted nearly the same narratives again and again in support of asylum bids, a move DHS says puts the legal front of the fraud fight squarely in the crosshairs.
