Europe could have just six weeks of jet fuel left, the International Energy Agency is warning, as Iran’s effective shutdown of the Strait of Hormuz drags on and prices spike. Fatih Birol says flight cancellations could soon follow if supplies stay blocked, with the IEA saying stocks would hit a tipping point in June unless Europe replaces at least half its Middle East imports. The Gulf is the biggest source of jet fuel to world markets — and with refineries in Korea, India and China also dependent on Middle East crude, the squeeze could spread fast.
