Dollar General is doing the retail equivalent of adding a DJ booth to the discount aisle, rolling out an expanded AI-powered in-store audio network with QSIC across 12,000 stores as it chases more targeted ad dollars at the point of sale. At the same time, it’s also staring down the final claims deadline on a class action settlement over alleged pricing discrepancies, because apparently even bargain shopping comes with a side of legal housekeeping. So, yes, DG is pushing into shinier digital revenue streams while still having to deal with the very unsexy business of pricing drama.
