A fiery Capitol clash erupted after New York Rep. Dan Goldman claimed sanctuary jurisdictions hand over removable criminal migrants after sentences end — and Republicans and DHS shot back hard. DHS says the record tells a far darker story: since January, New York alone has released 6,947 criminally convicted illegal immigrants after refusing ICE detainers, including offenders tied to homicides, assaults, burglaries, robberies, drug crimes, weapons offenses and sexual predatory offenses.
