A deported Mexican national with a record of repeat removals and DUI arrests is now accused in a brutal triple murder in California — including an infant and two women — after local officials, bound by the state’s sanctuary rules, allegedly failed to alert federal agents when ICE sought his release, The California Post has learned. Joaquin Escoto, 28, was set free after a June DUI arrest in San Joaquin County, despite ICE asking to be notified so he could be deported again, according to a senior law enforcement official. The case is now exploding into a deadly showdown over sanctuary law, public safety, and who pays the price when immigration enforcement is blocked.
