At the Shield of the Americas Summit in Florida, President Donald Trump announced the U.S. is extracting significant oil resources from Venezuela amid a new cooperative relationship with its government under Delcy Rodriguez, following the capture of Nicolás Maduro. He highlighted that Venezuela's oil companies are earning unprecedented profits while the U.S. also reaped benefits, and revealed a historic gold deal to facilitate Venezuela's sale of gold and minerals, limiting business with countries like Iran, North Korea, Russia, and Cuba. Trump also declared a firm stance toward Cuba, criticizing its depleted resources and regime while signaling imminent significant changes as Venezuela no longer supports it financially or with oil.
