COURT CRUSHES TRUMP ICE BOND-BAN
A federal appeals court Tuesday blasted the Trump administration’s sweeping ICE detention policy, rejecting a rule that would force many immigrants — including longtime U.S. residents — into mandatory custody without bond. The New York-based 2nd Circuit called it the “broadest mass-detention-without-bond mandate” in U.S. history, warning of a “seismic shock” that could clog already overcrowded facilities, rip families apart and rattle communities. The ruling deepens a growing split among appeals courts over the controversial policy, which remains endorsed in the 5th and 8th Circuits but blocked across much of the country.
