Nigeria’s Christian bloodbath is back in the brutal spotlight: over 350 believers, including up to 60 children, were reportedly massacred and burned alive by Islamists in attacks from July 5-6, while churches were destroyed and communities wiped out. Yet the slaughter barely moves the West, even as the Observatory for Religious Freedom in Africa says Christian civilians have been killed in greater numbers than other religious groups in Nigeria from 2020 to 2025. President Trump has occasionally ordered strikes on Islamic terrorists there, but the decade-long jihadist campaign against Christians across Nigeria — and beyond — remains largely ignored, even as outrage over Gaza dominates headlines and protests.
