CALIFORNIA MEASURE B BLOCKED: EARLY VOTING, MAIL BALLOTS SAVED
A California court has slammed the brakes on a hard-right election overhaul in Shasta County, temporarily blocking Measure B — a voter-approved package that would have imposed strict ID rules, ended early voting and mail ballots, forced hand-counting, and built a separate voter-roll system from scratch. Judge Benjamin Hanna said most of it clashes with state law and warned the county could not possibly create a brand-new voting system just months before November. California AG Rob Bonta, who sued to kill the measure, hailed the ruling as a win for certainty ahead of the general election.
