BMW is in hot water again as they recall over 145,000 vehicles due to a potential fire risk from an overheated starter. The engine starter issues affect models across 2020 340I, X7, and X5, putting drivers at risk of local overheating that could lead to a fire. This is the second recall this week for BMW, following a previous recall of over 196,000 vehicles in the U.S. over an engine starter issue. Owners will be notified by mail to have their engine starters replaced free of charge, but this news of fire risks has left many BMW drivers feeling the heat.
