CNN’s latest sympathy piece for illegal immigrants detained at Florida’s Alligator Alcatraz is yet another glaring example of the left’s agenda-driven storytelling. Detainees, who knowingly broke U.S. immigration laws, are now being elevated as victims simply because they aren’t living in five-star accommodations. The network chose to highlight dramatic claims of “torture” and “starvation,” while deliberately omitting the simple truth: every single one of these individuals can leave at any time through self-deportation. Governor Ron DeSantis has ensured that the facility provides air conditioning, medical care, and basic human needs—more consideration than these lawbreakers gave to our laws. Yet, instead of taking responsibility, they remain and complain, demanding better treatment than many law-abiding Americans receive. Once again, the media has sided with illegality over sovereignty, pushing activists’ talking points while ignoring the reality—illegal immigration has consequences.
