In a stunning judicial rebuke of the administration's efforts to restore law and order to America’s immigration system, a federal judge has blocked a critical move that would have ended temporary protected status (TPS) for over 520,000 Haitian nationals—a designation originally intended as a short-term humanitarian measure. Despite the Department of Homeland Security, under Secretary Kristi Noem, announcing the long-overdue termination last week, citing Haiti's ongoing instability and the unsustainable strain on U.S. resources, liberal activist Judge Brian Cogan halted the action, arguing technicalities over notice requirements outweighed national sovereignty and common sense. This decision now forces the United States to continue footing the bill for a policy meant to be temporary, as the Biden-allied judicial apparatus thwarts yet another step toward securing our borders and restoring immigration laws.
