A bombshell settlement in Judicial Watch’s federal lawsuit has put Oregon’s voter rolls under the microscope, with state officials now set to review and remove 800,000 ineligible names after the group accused them of a massive clean-up failure. The agreement, tied to the National Voter Registration Act, comes after Judicial Watch sued in October 2024 claiming Oregon and dozens of counties had left old, inactive registrations piling up, with 29 of the state’s 36 counties removing few or none at all. A federal judge let the case move forward in August 2025, and now the state must turn over detailed data and enforce the federal rules meant to keep the rolls accurate.
