Police have unleashed a massive raid in Cheshire, with around 500 officers storming properties in Crewe as investigators probe shocking allegations of sexual abuse, forced marriage and modern slavery tied to the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light. A number of arrests have been made and the operation is still live, with police saying the case stems from serious claims made by one woman about rape and sexual abuse in 2023. The group’s headquarters, Webb House — a former orphanage housing about 150 people — is now at the center of a widening scandal, with two other local properties also searched.
