Tragedy and chaos have struck deep in the heart of Texas, as more than 20 young girls remain missing following catastrophic overnight flooding at Camp Mystic, a beloved Christian girls camp nestled along the Guadalupe River in Kerr County. With roads washed away and helicopters scouring treacherous waters, frantic parents await word as search crews battle time and nature to locate the still-unaccounted-for campers out of the 750 who were hurriedly evacuated. Acting Governor Dan Patrick declared it a “once-in-a-lifetime flood,” as at least 13 lives have already been lost across the region. This devastating event underscores the urgent need for leadership and preparedness in rural communities — yet once again, families are left to rely on local emergency responders and their own resolve. While the nation watches, Texans are praying for a miracle along the banks of the Guadalupe.
