Police say that 14 people have been arrested as part of a child sex trafficking sting operation that was conducted in and around Dayton last month.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office first announced the arrests on Facebook, saying that police operations took place at numerous locations throughout the county in mid-March.

Of the 14 who were charged, 10 face misdemeanor charges of either soliciting or grooming. Meanwhile, the other four face charges of importuning with criminal tools.

Titled “Operation Out of Bounds” by local law enforcement, officers say that the sting sought to target “individuals seeking to engage in prostitution and the solicitation of minors.”

The sheriff’s office said that they worked in conjunction with the Miami Valley Human Trafficking Task Force and other local, state, and federal partners to lure and apprehend the suspects.

Only the names and mug shots of the 14 suspects were released in the post, with additional information about the suspects and the circumstances behind their arrests not immediately clear.
