President Trump is sending White House associate counsel Samuel D. Adkisson to the federal bench in Tennessee, a sharp move that comes as another key lawyer exits the president’s legal team after lead counsel David Warrington left last week. Trump hailed Adkisson as a constitutional fighter who helped win the high-stakes Slaughter case — the Supreme Court battle over firing FTC commissioners Rebecca Kelly Slaughter and Alvaro Bedoya — and Tennessee GOP Sen. Bill Hagerty is already pushing for quick confirmation.
