New Jersey is buckling under a stunning $8.2 billion annual burden tied to illegal immigration, according to a new report from Assemblyman Paul Kanitra, who says the state is spending $1,700 per resident — plus another $1,000 for renters — while schools, first responders and housing all feel the squeeze. The report claims 737,000 illegal immigrants remain in the state, with more than 100,000 identified on roadways through driver’s license affidavits, and says the issue is so severe federal intervention has been requested from the DOJ, DHS and House Judiciary Committee. The numbers are explosive: $26 million to fight deportations, $169 million for healthcare for illegal minors, and $1.28 billion for education — all as officials warn the system is simply not sustainable.
