A judge has slammed Adam Sheafe with life behind bars — plus decades more — for the brutal crucifixion-style killing of beloved Pastor Bill Schonemann in his Arizona home, ending a case that stunned a community and exposed an alleged plan for even deadlier violence. Sheafe, 52, who represented himself, got a 35-year term and two 25-year sentences on attempted murder charges, all to run consecutively, after a June plea deal took the death penalty off the table. He admitted to killing the 76-year-old pastor and told investigators he meant to hunt down more religious leaders, saying he believed Christian leaders were leading followers astray.
