An animal rights activist’s dramatic “rescue” may have ended in death and heartbreak: a lobster snatched from a warm tank and hurled into the freezing harbor likely died on impact, and its tank mate may have perished days later from loneliness, the restaurateur says. Emma Smart stormed into Catch at the Old Fish Market in Weymouth, seized one of the Michelin Guide restaurant’s pet lobsters — Ronnie and Reggie — and tossed it into the sea “like a cricket ball,” sparking fury from owner Sean Cooper, who blasted the move as ignorant and said neither crustacean was ever on the menu.
